In 2009 the Glasgow City Council set about closing 25 schools and nurseries across Glasgow. They claimed that falling school rolls meant that it was unavoidable.
Parents and campaigners pointed out that they were due to rise.
It wasn’t until the schools were demolished that the council finally admitted they’d got it wrong. The councillors responsible were all from the Labour group.
